Dibrugarh University is the easternmost University in India and was established in 1965 under the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965. The nearest airport is Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Airport (IATA: DIB, ICAO: VEMN), located approximately 20 km from the University campus, which receives daily flights from major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati. For those traveling by train, the Dibrugarh Railway Station (Banipur) is the primary hub, situated about 6 km away from the University campus, and it is served by major trains. The university is positioned directly on National Highway 37, making it easily accessible via inter-city buses or private vehicles from across Northeast India.
